The Topfer Family Foundation
accepts applications year round and reviews them on a quarterly
basis. To apply, organizations must submit an online application
available through this website. Due to the volume of requests
received each year, we cannot accept requests in the form of letters,
proposals or presentations. Before accessing the online
application, we recommend you review and print this page and the
Grant Guidelines page.
Online Application
TFF encourages you to use its online application. To do so, you
must have access to the Internet and one of the following Web
browser variations: Internet Explorer 5.5 SP-2 or higher, Internet
Explorer 6, Netscape 4.76, Netscape 6.2.3 and Internet Explorer5.14
for Macintosh OS X. To access the online application, please click

With the online application,
you have the ability to start an application and save your progress
for submittal at a later time. However, if you prefer, the Grant
Application Form is available in Word
or PDF
format for and you can use this document initially and then cut
and paste your information from there into our online application
and submit.
Required Documents
Listed below are support documents required to complete your application.
Incomplete applications will not be considered for funding.
- Copy of the Internal Revenue Service's 501(c)(3) nonprofit
status letter
- Letter of support from the organization's board chair
- Most recently filed IRS Form 990*
- Copy of last year's audited financial statements*
- Annual report (if your agency publishes one)*
*not required
in the initial application stage for new applicants (organizations
who have not previously received a grant from TFF).
If any of your supporting
documents are too large to submit with the online application,
please submit them as an email attachment to application@topferfoundation.org.
Attachments that cannot be submitted electronically can be

Review Process
Applications are accepted year round and scheduled for review
based on the order in which they are received. The Board of Directors
reviews applications at its quarterly meetings, generally held
in March, June, September and December. Organizations are encouraged
to submit applications as early as possible in the quarter to
allow for timely review by the TFF team prior to board meetings.
Applicants can expect responses within two weeks of the Board
meeting at which the grant is reviewed.
